The rising star boasts considerable online audience
Kai Trump will have numerous prominent backers when she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns numerous international courses and frequently competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He basically told me to go out there and enjoy myself," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has competed in just three tournaments recently and holds position 461 in AJGA listings.
Yet she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He told me to go out there, have fun, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes the sport to wider groups, particularly reaching youth audiences.
The young star has substantial online presence and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
