Amid significant development, Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement on the first phase of a ceasefire proposal, offering hope for an conclusion to the protracted conflict that has caused thousands of casualties and shaken the area.
UN head António Guterres called the Israel-Hamas accord as a “much-required step forward” and urged all sides to “strictly comply” by its provisions.
Every detainees need to be liberated in a honorable fashion. A permanent truce must be achieved. The hostilities should cease once and for all. Prompt and unimpeded entry of relief and vital goods into Gaza must be guaranteed. The suffering has to stop.
He also mentioned that the United Nations would back the total enactment of the deal and “will scale up the distribution of sustained and principled aid assistance.”
I urge all parties to grab this momentous opportunity to build a credible diplomatic route onward for terminating the occupation, acknowledging the autonomy of the Palestinian population, resulting in a two-state solution to allow Israeli citizens and Palestinians to reside in tranquility and safety.

The Gaza rescue organization has announced multiple attacks on the area on Thursday morning, after the announcement that the Hamas faction and Israel had reached a deal on a ceasefire plan.
“From the announcement yesterday evening of an agreement on a recommended peace outline in the Gaza Strip, several explosions have been noted, notably in areas of the northern part of Gaza,” said one of the service's representatives, Mohammed Al-Mughayyir.
He mentioned “numerous intense airstrikes” on the city of Gaza.
Donald Trump has announced that the US will be involved in helping to restore the Gaza Strip and keep it protected and stable.
“We’ll be involved in helping them ensure its success, and assisting it remain calm,” the US leader told Fox News hours after he revealed that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of his ceasefire initiative.
The president noted that he was “quite assured we will achieve stability in the area.”
Celebrations have occurred in Israeli towns and Gaza Strip after Donald Trump’s statement of the Israeli-Palestinian agreement.
Groups gathered near a medical facility in Khan Younis, the southern part of Gaza, clapping and celebrating in what one Palestinian described as “significant occasions” after a prolonged period of conflict.
A parent of Israeli hostage Matan Zangauker, Einav Zangauker, celebrated the forthcoming release of her child, commenting: “Gratitude to the Israeli public, to the soldiers, thanks to Donald Trump.”
