Miami scored 86 first-half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies
The Heat earned a decisive 146 to 114 win against the Grizzlies in their first basketball game since player Terry Rozier was detained for suspected unlawful gambling.
Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups was also arrested as part of a broad federal investigation into sports betting. The two individuals deny the claims.
But, the Heat were not distracted as they scored eighty-six first-half points to lead the Grizzlies by 39 after two quarters, the biggest halftime lead in the team's 37-year existence.
Adebayo top-scored with 24 scores and later said Rozier had the team's full backing.
"We support him. Complete backing," Bam stated. "We are with him all the way. That's our brother ultimately."
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra added: "Terry is a person who is very dear to everyone. He's had a real positive impact on our locker room.
"We send our thoughts and our care for him as he goes through this."
Portland also won their initial match after the arrests, with Brazil-born Splitter stepping in as temporary head coach in Chauncey's absence and leading the squad to a decisive 139-119 victory against the Warriors.
"We all had positive times with Billups and his coaching style," Splitter remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."
Addressing the arrests for the first time, league head Silver said he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.
"There's nothing more important to the league and its fans than the fairness of the game," he informed Amazon Prime. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."
The commissioner also said an NBA investigation into Rozier's conduct in March 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he participated for the Charlotte Hornets against the New Orleans Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.
"We were informed by the authorities and the gambling firms," he continued.
"We investigated that situation and were open about it. And while there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, found no evidence.
"Federal authorities has subpoena power... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the league office is unable to.
"So, we've been working with them from that point. Naturally, what they revealed recently was an indictment.
"Moreover 30 months later, he still hasn't been convicted of anything, in justice to Rozier.
"Clearly, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a compromise in this case between upholding rights and conducting an inquiry."
In other games, Los Angeles Lakers player Doncic recorded over forty scores for the consecutive match in a row to begin the campaign.
After scoring forty-three points in a first defeat to the Golden State, the Slovenian achieved forty-nine points - to go with eleven boards and eight assists - as the Los Angeles beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 128 to 110.
From Greece player Antetokounmpo also had a big night with 31 scores, 20 rebounds and 7 passes in the Bucks' 122 to 116 win at the Raptors.
Houston Rockets were beaten 115 to 111 by the Pistons despite thirty-seven points from Kevin Durant, while Wembanyama had 29 points, eleven rebounds and 9 blocks in the San Antonio Spurs' extra-time victory over the Pelicans.
