An official representative for the ministry of commerce was reacting to fresh remarks made by the European diplomat in which he portrayed the confrontation between Chinese and EU authorities as a “wake-up call” for western leaders.

“Beijing has observed the latest statements made by the European representative. Beijing voices profound discontent and considerable discontent with such statements that confuse right and wrong, twist actual events and continue with a one-sided perspective.”

The official representative emphasized that “The profound lesson this semiconductor supply chain crisis has demonstrated internationally is that regulatory actions should not be used to improperly interfere with company functions.”
