George Springer previously helped the Houston Astros securing the World Series in the 2017 season.
Toronto's Blue Jays advanced to their first World Series after 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive game seven of the ALCS.
Down 3-1, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh frame, propelling the sole Canadian team in Major League Baseball to a four games to three victory in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Dodgers, the team that is the reigning title, in the anticipated championship.
"It's incredible for this squad, our city, the nation," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 championship. "This is such an incredible feeling."
George Springer has now connected for 23 total playoff homers, ranking him third on the list trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).
"I can't think of another player anywhere that I want up in that spot except for George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.
Seattle's team, who had led the early in the series, are still the sole team yet to make an appearance in a championship series.
Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's painful" in the wake of his team's loss at their home ballpark, but applauded their performance throughout the year.
"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we ended up on the wrong side of this one," he continued.
The Blue Jays claimed the title on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on this Friday.
