Approximately one thousand People Stuck on Everest Slopes

Search and rescue missions are currently ongoing on the remote Tibetan slopes of the Himalayan peak, where a heavy winter storm has stranded nearly 1,000 individuals in temporary shelters on the east-facing side of the mountain.

Hundreds community members and emergency crews have been dispatched to remove heavy snowfall obstructing entry to the zone, which sits at an elevation of above 4,900 meters.

Some hikers have already been rescued from the affected location.

Intense snow began on Friday night and has grown stronger on the east-facing areas of Mount Everest in Tibet, an location frequented by climbers and trekkers.

It has been stated that tents had given way due to the weight of the snow, and several climbers were suffering from exposure.

Admission tickets and admission to the Mount Everest scenic zone have been halted from Saturday.

The zone is facing extreme weather, with nearby Nepal being battered by torrential downpours that have led to landslides and sudden flooding, sweeping off crossings and claiming the lives of at least 47 people in the recent two-day period.

In the country, a tropical storm has arrived, requiring approximately 150k individuals to relocate from their houses.

Everest is the planet's tallest mountain at more than 8,849 meters. Even though numerous climbers try to ascend the top annually, it is seen as an incredibly dangerous hike.

In the past few years, it has been plagued with problems due to high numbers, environmental concerns, and a number of tragic ascents.
